Titchmarsh Parish Council

Main Areas of Responsibility

To review planning applications and to comment on them to the Planning Departments of the District Council or, more rarely, the County Council.

To ensure that our streets are lit adequately and that lighting is well maintained, and to keep the property owned by the Council, such as seats, notice boards etc, in good condition.

To make sure the Parish is kept tidy and orderly by, for example, overseeing the contract for the cutting of grass verges.

To work with other authorities, such as the District and County Council, to ensure that the village and surrounding area remains a safe and pleasant place in which to live.

To work with other parish organisations, such as the committees for the Clubroom and Playing Field, in order to ensure that there are good facilities for parishioners.

To represent the views of the Parish in the governance of the School.

To provide a focus for the discussion of the current and future needs of the Parish

To be the ‘point of contact’ for dissemination of information into and out of village
