Singers Wanted for Three Events in St Mary's Church

Can you sing? Can you sing in tune? Read music?

The Benefice Choir is being temporarily revived and is looking for sopranos, altos, tenors and basses for three services which are planned for the next few months in St Mary's:

  • The Titchmarsh Carol Service (December 19th, date TBC)
  • The midnight Communion at Titchmarsh (December 24th)
  • And a service (date TBC) to celebrate the return of the church's 146 year old organ which is being restored by the world-renowned organ builders Harrison & Harrison of Durham.

We have three practices planned for October 14th, November 17th and December 15th. Our rehearsals are light-hearted and end with tea and cakes.

It is essential you can sing in tune; desirable that you can read music and "hold a line" (i.e. stick to your part and not get diverted by the fact that other singers may be singing a different tune / part); and a real bonus if you have sung in church choir before, perhaps as a child or young adult.
