Harvest Festival

A delight but not a bumper year

Thank you to everyone who came to Harvest Festival on Saturday 26th September. This was the first year we had held the event on a Saturday and we were wondering how popular it would be. Unfortunately it was difficult to gauge as England were playing Wales in the Rugby World Cup at 8 p.m. We managed to wind up proceedings by 7.50 p.m. and then there was a rush for the door!

We had a delightful evening with John Marriott reprising his role as auctioneer. Altogether the event raised just over £1400 for church funds. A good amount but several hundred pounds less than the last couple of years.

The PCC would like to thank:

  • the Flower Club for gorgeous window decorations;
  • everyone who provided the delicious food;
  • John for his auctioneering; and
  • everyone who bought tickets, produce and promises.
