Can I just take a moment to remind everyone (especially the men-folk of the village) that today is pancake day. In my house, for some reason, we always seem to forget - usually until it's far too late to make any. Well not today!
Shrove Tuesday is the day immediately preceding Ash Wednesday, which is the first day of Lent. Elsewhere the day is celebrated as Mardi Gras - or Fat Tuesday - and for good reason. If you're going to fast for 40 days then it's probably a good idea to eat as much as possible to get you started!
Most of us in Titchmarsh will probably stick to pancakes. Thankfully, we have a village shop which stocks everything from flour and milk to squeezly lemons. Get yourself down there early, before stocks run out!
