The inaugural meeting of the Titchmarsh Local History Group was held in November 2005 in response to the interest shown by many people at the Parish Plan, Tday.

The group has been concentrating on the collection of photographs and documents from the people whose families have lived and worked in the village for many years. An oral history is being collated from older residents who’s memories, if not recorded, will be lost and gone forever.  

All the collected information has been carefully recorded and stored onto CD and full credit is given when the material is reproduced. If you have any photos, documents or any other memories of Titchmarsh in the past that you can share with us we would like to hear from you.

We are a small group of likeminded people who have an interest in our village, past and present.  We regret that we are unable to answer enquiries concerning family histories or give information of events from the past by email.  All such enquiries should be directed to:

All are welcome to our monthly meetings. We meet in the Clubroom, High Street, Titchmarsh, on the second Thursday of each month commencing at 7.30pm (There are no meetings in August or December).

• Next meeting - Thursday 10th December 2009 at 7.30pm, Colin Rae from Oundle will be sharing his research on: Medieval Churches - Their Design, Features and Uses.      Many churches have features that cannot be readily seen or understood in this day and age. Colin will unravel these features and give us a new understanding of the use of the church buildings in bygone days.  This is our Christmas meeting and we will be having wine and nibbles.  The cost of the evening is £2.50.
