“A minibus service that picks you up from
your door, takes you out and then drops you off at home again later”
This service is run by the Volunteer Centre in Thrapston (tel 01832 733336)
and is aimed at anyone who doesn’t have access to, or is unable to use
other forms of transport.
The service is provided not only for essential trips such as shopping,
but also for leisure trips for bingo, swimming, trips to the seaside etc.
Pick up the Ring & Ride newsletter from the Volunteer Centre, for
details of regular outings to garden centres, pub lunches, the theatre,
weekly shopping trips to 7 local towns.
To take advantage of this Ring & Ride service there is an annual registration
fee (currently £6), in addition to the costs of individual trips, which
are about the same as ordinary transport costs. Travel tokens are accepted.
